The ancient pergola

We've been exploring many modern applications for the ancient pergola for several clients lately.  

A long-shaded walkway can provide a fantastic journey for the individual through their garden. If we build it large and strong enough we could hang a fabulous day bed off it; a childs swing to utilise the shade it creates. We can elevate a garden to overhead and create height and assist with scale. Modern building materials are allowing us to create large sturdy chunky suspended structures. It can create a long shaded walkway, making for a secluded environment.
